1. About these terms
These terms apply to the Yapp website and service operated as Yapp.IT. Read them with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. Use the service only if you agree to these terms. Contact [email protected] with questions or complaints. These terms do not remove rights that applicable law gives you.
2. Adults only
You must be at least 18 years old to use Yapp and must confirm this during the account-access process. The confirmation is your declaration, not independent identity or document verification. Do not access Yapp if you are under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may restrict access and handle the information in accordance with applicable obligations.
3. Your account
Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure and do not impersonate another person. Do not share passwords or verification codes. Tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity you authorise; this does not make you responsible for failures outside your control.
4. Rooms and invitations
Rooms use membership-based access. Share private invitation links only with intended participants. Anyone holding a valid invitation may be able to join, subject to expiry, revocation and Room limits. Room privacy is not a guarantee against a member copying or sharing content. Do not use invitations to harass people or expose private information.
5. Friendly challenges and Public Yapps
Private Room Yapps use the choices, voting deadlines, coins and result-review process shown in the app. Public Yapps are publicly readable polls or discussions. Eligible first responses earn 5 bonus Yapp Coins, limited to five Public Yapps per member during each India calendar day; responding to your own Public Yapp does not earn a bonus. These are participation bonuses only. Public Yapps have no stakes, scoring, winners or result approval. Public Yapps, profiles, responses, comments, clarifications and creator updates may be shared outside Yapp. Keep all questions clear, lawful and voluntary, and do not include private Room content or personal, sensitive or confidential information in a Public Yapp.
6. Yapp Coins
Yapp Coins are in-app points with no cash value. They are not currency, an investment, a payment instrument or a promise of a prize. Public Yapp participation bonuses are subject to the eligibility and daily limits shown in the app and may be withheld or corrected for duplicate activity, misuse or technical error. Do not organise cash betting, sell points, demand payments or promise financial returns using Yapp. Point balances may need correction when a technical error, misuse or challenge cancellation occurs.
7. Your content
You retain rights you hold in the content you submit. You give Yapp.IT permission to store, process and display that content as needed to provide, protect and support the service. Private Room content is made available according to Room membership; Public Yapp content is made available publicly. This permission is not ownership of your content. Submit only content you are entitled to share, and respect other people’s privacy and intellectual property.
8. Acceptable use
Follow the Community Guidelines. No threats, harassment, hate, sexual exploitation, pornography, extremist or terrorist promotion, scams, unlawful activity, malicious code or attempts to bypass access controls. Do not share confidential workplace data or another person’s private information without permission.
9. Moderation and account restrictions
We may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks, unlawful activity or violations of these terms. Where appropriate and permitted, we will explain the action. You can ask for a review by emailing [email protected]. Urgent safety or legal concerns may require action before notice.
10. Leaving Yapp
You may stop using Yapp at any time. To request account deletion, follow the Account Deletion page. Signing out or clearing browser storage does not delete your account. Some shared, security or legally required records may need to be retained or anonymised as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Availability and responsibility
We work to provide a useful service, but access can be interrupted and features may change. To the extent permitted by law, we do not promise uninterrupted operation or particular results. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Keep your own copy of information you need rather than relying on Yapp as a permanent archive.
12. Changes and complaints
We will update these terms when needed and identify the effective version. Where a material change requires notice or renewed agreement, we will provide it as appropriate. Contact [email protected] first for a question, complaint or dispute. These terms do not require you to waive rights to contact a regulator or seek remedies available under applicable law.
