Account & data deletion
Version 1.0 · Effective 18 October 2026 · Email: [email protected]
1. Send a deletion request
Email [email protected] from the email associated with your account. Use the subject “Yapp account deletion” and say that you want your account and associated personal information deleted. If you cannot access that email, explain the problem so we can discuss an appropriate verification route. Do not send a password or OTP.
2. Verification and review
Deletion requests are reviewed manually. We may verify account ownership and clarify which information is affected. This page does not describe an instant self-service deletion button. We will respond about the request and any necessary next steps in accordance with applicable requirements.
3. Information affected
A verified request covers your account and associated personal information, subject to lawful retention and shared-record considerations. Information that can no longer be retained for a valid purpose should be deleted or anonymised. A challenge, point or group record involving other users may need to remain in a form that protects their records while removing your identifying information where feasible.
4. Necessary retained records and backups
Limited information may need to remain for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention or an unresolved dispute. We will explain an applicable retention reason when responding to a request, subject to lawful restrictions. Backup and provider-log copies may remain until the relevant retention cycle expires; they are not a reason to keep using deleted information for ordinary product purposes.
5. What deletion cannot undo
Deleting your account cannot remove copies another member has independently saved or shared outside Yapp. Signing out, uninstalling a shortcut or clearing browser storage does not itself delete your account. If you have a concern about information someone else shared, also send a content or privacy report to the same email.
