Privacy Policy

Version 1.2 · Effective 2 November 2026 · Operator: Yapp.IT

1. Who handles your information

Yapp.IT is responsible for handling personal information for the Yapp service. Email [email protected] for privacy questions, complaints or requests. This policy describes the information used to run Yapp and the choices available to you.

2. Information you provide

This includes account and authentication information; display name, username and selected avatar; age-confirmation acknowledgement; private Room information and membership; invitations; private challenge questions, options, calls and results; Public Yapps, votes, comments, replies, reactions, reports, blocks and mute choices; in-app point records; Room messages; and information you send to Support. An enabled sign-in method may also provide an email address, phone number or provider identifier. Do not include sensitive or private information in Public Yapps.

3. Technical information

Authentication, hosting and security services can process technical information such as IP address, request time, device or browser details, session identifiers and error or security logs. The web app uses browser storage for sign-in and the remember-session preference. The Cookies & Browser Storage notice explains those functions.

4. Why information is used

We use information to create and authenticate accounts, provide Room membership, manage invitations, operate private challenges and Public Yapps, deliver reply or activity notifications, maintain in-app point records for private Rooms and Public Yapp participation bonuses, show public response totals, support sharing, enforce daily limits, measure feature use, review reports and protect the service against abuse. We process information with consent or another basis permitted by applicable law. If required information is not provided, a feature may not work.

5. Who can see content

Private Room content is available according to membership and product permissions. Choices and coin amounts in private Yapps are hidden from other members while a Yapp is open; later visibility depends on the result flow. Public Yapps, the associated profile identity, response totals, comments, replies, helpful reactions, clarifications and creator updates are publicly readable and shareable, including by people without an account. Individual public poll choices are not displayed as named responses. Blocking changes what signed-in users see but cannot retract copies already shared. Private Rooms are never automatically converted into Public Yapps.

6. Service providers and disclosure

Yapp uses Supabase for authentication and database services and Cloudflare for web hosting or delivery in the current release configuration. Account email delivery and any enabled social sign-in services also process information needed for their functions. These providers may operate in countries outside your own. We use providers to run and protect the service, and may disclose information when required by law, to address safety or fraud, or to protect lawful rights. Optional provider features may differ by deployment; contact us for details relevant to your account.

7. Retention

We keep personal information while needed to provide the service and for legitimate security, support, dispute-handling and legal purposes. Retention depends on the record and its purpose, not a promise of permanent storage. When information is no longer needed, it should be deleted or anonymised. Shared challenge or point records can require separate handling to protect other users’ records. Backup copies and provider logs may remain until their normal retention cycles expire, with access limited to their operational purpose.

8. Your requests and choices

Email [email protected] to request access, correction, account deletion or help withdrawing consent where processing relies on consent. We may need to verify account ownership and clarify the scope of your request. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully carried out and may prevent continued use of a feature. We will explain any applicable reason why part of a request cannot be fulfilled. You may also raise concerns with an appropriate authority where applicable law provides that right.

9. Adults 18+

Yapp is restricted to adults aged 18 or over. Users must self-declare eligibility; this is not independent age-document verification. If you believe an under-18 person is using Yapp, contact [email protected] with the minimum information needed to investigate.

10. Security

We use authentication and access controls to limit access to account and Room information. No service can guarantee absolute security. Keep credentials private, use the account-recovery flow when needed, and report suspected misuse promptly. Do not send passwords or OTPs to Support.

11. Product analytics and updates

The public website adds no advertising pixels or third-party audience-tracking scripts. The Yapp app records limited first-party events for Public Yapps, such as creation, views by signed-in users, votes, comments, shares, reports and closes, to operate safety controls and understand feature use. Authentication and hosting also involve essential storage and technical processing. If optional advertising tracking or materially different uses are introduced, we will update this notice and provide choices or obtain consent where required. This page identifies the effective policy version.
